Does anyone know the name of that plastic like finish on the inside of the Sunbrella canvas on the Sea Ray " eyebrows " ??.....and where I can get it done ???

I'm having my canvas done over by AMC ....and I want to duplicate the original finish.

I just dropped off my eyebrows at AMC....to use as templates.....to make new ones. The finish is called " seamark "....he's not sure if its still available. I may end up with the bare sunbrella finish on the inside :( :(

Rob......SEAMEN ????....what are you thinking ? Maybe SEAMEN stains on the sheets ?

Walter......I had the eisenglass replaced last season.......its still good to go.
 
he dis eisenglass not Strataglass?, eisenglass what seray uses on their boats.

Reason for the question is I will be getting a new enclosure, I had strata before and the glass went bad after one season. it was replaced for free. I got a price from tony for that thick stuff for the front and the rest strata, not sure if I want strata.
 
Walter......eisenglass is the original.......thinner material ?. Thats what I replaced it with last season. I'm still undecided if I will redo the glass yet......if the border sunbrella color ( shade ) matches...I will reuse what I have.....if not I'll redo the glass al$o.
I purchased the "Teal Tweed " color sunbrella off e-bay ( NEW full 60" wide roll ) last fall.....and hope to have enough left over for a helm cover....dink cover... and a few other odds and ends.
 
AMC is redoing my front glass in 40 strata. I had 30 strata.
Just doing the front and re-using my exisitng canvas which is in good shape.
Also doing the sunpad.

It is available and if AMC does not carry it, push for it you don't want bare canvas on the bimini top, even with the sealant. You will get leaks after a while. They work with Sunbrella.

Yeh, I particpated in those threads, I am just so confused on which glass I should use. I and a few friends that had problems with
stata and of course so did I.

I am going to post in ATC.

Brad..........The problem is that the color " Teal Tweed " was dicontinued back in 2005.

Last spring Tony spent days trying to locate enough material to do my job......with NO success. He was talking me into going with black sunbrella.......but all my " stuff " is teal.....and I love the color.

I just got lucky on e-bay one day to find a supplier who had a few rolls of teal tweed surplus...and bought it all.....but its a NON seamark finish.

I just called Fabrics and Vinyls.......they list Seamark Teal Tweed.....but the same old story....DISCONTINUED.

I'm looking to have someone " seamark " my eyebrows after AMC makes them.
 
Don, That is too bad... If you like the color that much then you will be stuck with canvas on both sides. You may need wash the top a few times a season and apply the sealant. Tony has some good stuff.... I was using the 302 but Tony sold me some other stuff for the upcoming season.

Water, I remember you had a similar problem. I replaced my eisenglass with Strata then it fogged up in the same season and Tony honored the warrantee, but I won’t install it until it starts to warm up. When I switched the Strata with my old glass it looked so bad, I could barley see out. Since I like to hang on the boat in the winter, I bit the bullet and bought the replacement version of the sea-ray glass which stayed new looking with this mild winter.

I don’t know what to say, maybe we both had a bad batch or what the owner of Strata said that this area has acid rain which does not work well with Strata glass, but also said he has not receive many complaints.

I guess I will find out by fall again… If it goes bad, I will replace with some other solution, but only the front panels. Seems my sides stayed ok… Strange !!

I forget the name, and I stored it away for the winter so not to freeze. Ask Tony, he says it's good. I have not tried it yet so I am not sure about the mildew. I never get too much mildew on the outside on inside, I use the 3m stuff or tile-x diluted. It does come back after a few weeks if we had rain but it is removed very easy if you keep on top of it.
 
I am seeing Tony to pick up my canvas today. But I was reading that Sunbrella recommends the 303. So I am going to use that.
For the strata, they recommend the Imar prodcuts.
 
I just dropped a few panels off of the flybridge enclosure to AMC that needed repair. I was speaking with him and he said this was a rare winter where he didn't have to lay anybody off. He stayed busy throughout the entire off season. He does great work so I'm not surprised.

How did your job turn out ???

Mine will be done mid week.........then I can unwrap. !!! :) :) :)
 
I didn't unwrap everything since it was nicely wrapped. Will see it when I put it on. Sunpad looks good but he needs to come down and install the snaps on it and line it up with my existing snaps.

You going to use the aqua tite or 303? I read that the aqua tite provides no stain or soil protection but 303 does.
