The wall paper in the 2 staterooms and companionway needs to be replaced and if possible we don't want paper or vinyl. I'm looking for suggestions and ideas. Because of all the angles and cuts wood is difficult but can be done but would like something a little easier.

I bought 4x8 sheets of real teak veneer on ebay. It is excellent quality, great grain pattern, and looks to be easy to work with. I hope to get some well worn wall coverings replaced over the winter. Would require dimensional teak for the trim though.

Old designer's trick....You can prime and paint the old wallcovering. Just make sure any loose edges are glued-down. It's a way of updating the color scheme without having to go through the time and expense to remove the old wallcovering and replace it. It looks especially nice if the wc has a texture.

Never thought of that. That's a great idea! I covered the walls in my house with textured (beadboard) wallpaper and painted it, then put a jute rope trim around all the trim. I get a lot of compliments on how good it looks. Many think the house is paneled! Would probably look as good in a boat on the original wall coverings!

Thanks for the tips. My problen is the wallpaper has bubbles and too many to spot fix. I was thinking if I could remove the old paper without tearing it I could just re-glue. I like the jute rope idea it ccan also hide my mistakes.
