Restoring alu half tower

Well today the web-on on my half tower got blown apart. The good news is that this will give me an opportunity to do something about the pitted alu of the tower.
I would like to hear from you all what the best way is of restoring, I was thinking of painting the whole thing a nice snow white. Now how to prep and what paint to use, or should I have the thing powder coated.

Powder coat or use the correct primer and paint with a good two part poly like Awlgrip. It's to much work to short cut it.
