restoring some luster to faded switches

Can anyone suggest how to make sun-damaged dash switches look new again ... short of simply replacing them? Any miracle products out there?

Don't know about your switches but my guess is it would be better to replace them. If they're sunburned they've probably been wet a few times too.
 
Are they black "plastic"...If so there is a blackening/shining substance sold in auto parts stores. Used to assist in detailing cars and trucks. Works well on black mouldings.
 
What kind of switches? If they happen to be Contura rocker switches you can get actuators for about $2.50 each.

You mean the one for the '330DA switch ? Sure. I need an email address that can receive an Excel spreadsheet (the one in your profile failed).

For the actuators, I ordered those via the local Marine Max via the Sea Ray parts numbers - easy, cheap and took five days to get them. You will, however, want the tool which you can get at Boatfix

I will gladly send you the spreadsheet. Will it help on your boat? I don't know. The spreadsheet lists the switches by location on the panel - gives the Sea Ray part number, switch type, and also includes the contact info for Wes-Garde where you can order the switches. I did it for my '97 330 DA (twin 7.4 L Merc's, V-drive). You are certainly welcome to the sheet if you think it will help you.
 
Question: I also have a '95 Sea Ray but mine is a 300 Dancer with Gray Contura switches, some faded, but one or two have the led indicator light out. Can you replace the led indicator light? Or do you need to just buy a whole new switch? I can only seem to find Conturas in black and I need these stupid gray ones...If so where?
 
Isn't there a shoe shine spray at Walgreens that MIGHT work?
