If your boat is at Haverstraw Marina you are in very good shape. The boats are barely moving especially south of main dock which is always the calmest section. I was surprised to see how many boats had neglected to add additional lines or tied improperly for such a forecast
I would expect some boats will break free. There are even a few jet skis still in.

River and Beach roads are already flooded. The road and parking lot by West dock at HM is flooded. You cannot tell where the parking lot ends and the river begins by West dock. The restaurant docks are taking a beating & looking like they are barely holding on. In the grassy area south of the meeting room/cabanas the river has come over the bank and is very scary looking. There are tugs pushing barges just sitting out there, I guess they are waiting it out. There were also two large sight seeing boats heading north against the wind & tide barely making headway. Maybe moved 100 feet in the 5 minutes I watched them.

On the other side of beach road just west of the penny bridge, in front of the park, that too was under water. The launch ramp there was completely covered by water & part of the park as well.

I was unable to cross over the penny bridge, it was blocked off, but one of the public works guys said the road was "buried". All the boats I was able to see at Ba Mar and the edge of Mineseongo were fine though

Hard to believe the worst is yet to come because that river is damn ugly already. If I am able to get out and about I will take another look later on.

I was there around the same time. The water is almost in the parking lot at SPBM, and close to the top of the Patsy's seawall. The storm is supposed to be at it's worst during the next high tide. If that happens, there will be a ton of flooding. Depending how high it goes, a lot of boats on land may be back on the river...

I was up there as well. Correct on Haverstraw boats not moving too much but the pilings on the main dock close to land only had about 4 feet before docks breach the pilings. Out further the pilings have a good 8 feet.

Is it my imagination or is the water over the wall at PB? The webcam doesn't have a wall in it anymore?

No Dan, there is a couple of feet to go yet. Parking lot had water. The jetties are about to go under. Was at the seawall getting ready to start flooding there

Mike I agree even the boats on land are in trouble my boat is the closest to the bulk head and I'm worried!!
I think I need a drink.

I added two pics of CYC around high tide this morning. Not looking good. I figure for me (Ohana), from what I can guestimate, I will not have interior damage until boat hits the true water line as my engines are approx 1' above bottom of hull as is floor...as best I can guess. I fully expect bilge to be douched at tonight's high tide, 11:09pm in Haverstraw bay.

Good Luck everyone!!!

Things are really looking up:)

Not that this is a good thing!

Just heard on Fox that the water in Manhattan is already 5 feet beyond Irene's peak.

I thought you were banned Dave, your lucky they didn't sick Manuel on you.

The boat in the back left corner is tied to a dock that is detroyed already with a broken pile. Hopefully it will survive.

BTW - How's the parking lot look? Any flooding over the wall yet?

My brother in law is the maintenance guy there and also lives in one of the units right on the water next to the bridge. He moved his family out last night assuming the worst. Last year their docks floated off the pilings.

I was there around 11:00 this morning, I believe that was the peak of high tide & it was dry. Water was threatening but had not come up over into the park. So somewhere between 11 & 3 they got swamped.

Did they get those docks back? Because there have been docks floating on the HM shore off the parking lot where everyone hangs out & fishes since the storm last year. They looked (at that time) to be fairly new. There were/are 4 of them. Is that where they came from?

Not sure if they didn't recover any, but they had a hell of a time trying to get them back on the pilings.

Any update from that area? My brother in law said there are boats floating around bamar park. His house is under water as well as many others.

Cannot get near that area right now. Will try again later. Drove around town and can tell you Stony Point was hit hard!!! My street among the worst. Live line came down & set the.woods on fire last night.
Just drove all over town, saw town and county trucks, Verizon and lots of landscapers. Not a single O&R truck. Now I don't expect anyone to risk their life in bad weather but I have seen them out much worse than what it is now. And I read they were bringing in help from out of the area too. Does anyone have any insight into this??

"Does anyone have any insight into this??"

don't know who "O&R" is.... but around here ( we have much experience in this problem ) the cherry picker truck don't go out unless the wind is less than 30 mph. The other issue is that the equipment is generally parked "out of danger" then floods into the area post storm. Of course, if roads are closed, the "trapped" areas will have to wait a while. As for your specific area and situation, IDK...
