I need to bring my hunter 29 sailboat from riverhead to mystic ct oct 8 or 9 and need help advice going thru plum gut and also advice to mystic.
I sail to greenport and sag harbor many times but never been thru the gut other than on the ferry,I would leave riverhead at first light or early am and head for the gut get to mystic before dark, I would not want to enter mystic in the dark.
What I need help with is the current at the gut and making sure I don't go thru the gut fighting the current with my sailboat,how do I know how much slack time and what direction the current is flowing.
I have a ray marine gps chartplotter that gives the tides but not current,it doen't look like a tuff trip except going thru the gut,what about mystic any thing I need to know.
