Another thread got me thinking about an RO Fishing Trip on the delta this fall. Anyone interested in joining up for a striper bait fishing trip on the Sacramento River or Montezuma Slough? I've got enough seats and gear for four people on FlyWright, so no need to have your own gear. It'd be a great chance to try it if you've never had the chance.

If you'd prefer to bring your own boat and want to raft up or just fish in the same area, we can do that, too.

How about some weekend day from mid-October to late November? Anyone interested?

Al,
That sounds like a blast. I'd love to join you, schedule permitting.

Me too!

Right now I'm available Oct 10-11; Oct 24-25; Oct 31-Nov 1; Nov 7-8; or Nov 14-15. After that my calendar gets clogged with Holiday stuff......

I'd probably fish from your boat but sleep on mine. But I'm flexible!

Liz, no one said anything about making an overnighter out of this. What's all this talk about sleepin' and being flexible? You propositioning ole Flywright ;-)

You betcha! Just don't let his Admiral hear about it....... You have a very dirty mind Dave!

Hey...who you calling 'ole'?

I have commitments on Oct 10-11 and Oct 31-Nov 1 on the boat. Nov 14-15 would work well for me. Personally, I prefer the idea of an overnight since it takes me an hour to get to the fishing grounds on the Sac. Then I can relax and get more fishing in.

I have a friend with a large dock on Monte Slough we could possibly tie up on or we could anchor in Horseshoe Bend behind Decker Island. Another option is to tie up in the slips at Brannan Island. That's where I'll be Halloween weekend.

I'm not looking for a boat ride, or much of anything else, but just wanted to remind everyone that October 9-11 is the Rio Vista Striper Derby. Big fish all over the delta develop lock jaw that weekend.

FineMe sitting in the bar, nursing a diet coke.

Nov 14-15 would work well for me too! I don't mind if we raft up or tie up to a dock. I'm willing to go even if it rains!!!!!

Since when is diet coke your beverage of choice??? Have you changed so we can't FindYou???

Just got back into town and seen your thread. Count me in, maybe a boatered fishing derby? At this point any date is good for me.

Sounds like a go! Nov 14-15 is still good for me. I'd like to make it an overnight trip. Let's keep an eye on fishing and weather reports to decide on a location.

Al,

Sounds good to me so far. Crab season opens the prior weekend and I will definitely be out in Pillar Point Harbor for that. If you'd like to come get some crabs, we'll be pulling the pots multiple times a day (weather depending). We mmake it a weekend thing with friends camping in the parking lot, parties with friends, etc. You're welcome to join us.

Hey, Dave, maybe you could contribute some fresh crab for lunch the following Saturday???? I LOVE fresh crab meat!!!!!

Flutterby:

Diet coke is not my drink of choice, decaf is. You see, a couple of years ago, my doctor took away all of my fun tickets.

I keep vodka, coconut rum, wine, beer and some other things on the boat, and call them my chick bait. The expiration date on my six pack was in May. I guess the next time I buy beer, I get the cheap stuff that is not dated.

LOL Yea, I'm on an alcohol-free diet too. No booze for 19 months now and I feel so much better! Life is better: sweeter and richer.

...News Flash...

Just a heads up that things are in the mix that might prevent me from going fishing Nov 14-15. I know, where are my priorities! I will keep you posted as the situation develops.

...We now return to our original broadcast schedule...

I'm having company this weekend and will be unable to get to the boat or to fish with anyone. durn!!!

Looks like I'm definitely out for this weekend, too. Sorry for the late cancellation, but other priorities take precedence. Apologies to dvan and others who planned to make it. Dave, I hope you can get out crabbing.

No apologies necessary Al, stuff happens.
Hopefully the weather holds, I am thinking about taking time off around Thanksgiving week and do a little fishing.

Al,

It's not a problem at all you have to prioritize. Now for us unemployed guys, it's easy to plan, there's nothing on the schedule ;-) The weekend weather is still unknown, but we're heading out tomorrow morning to drop a dozen crab pots. Hopefully we'll pull a few after we finish dropping to get some crab for dinner tomorrow night. If you'd ever like to come along, please let me know, we usually can get limits for 4-5 per trip. We should pull again on Wednesday and Thursday too.
