While checking for clues to it's make, I found a sign on the gunwale that read "Carver".

i thought so too. but on each gunwale is a white plaque reading carver, made in pulaski.

Carver did in fact start out making lapstrake runabouts just like the one pictured above!!! Its hard to believe that those humble beginnings led eventually to 570 Voyagers, but that is in fact what happened. Go to the Carver website and look at the old brochures for more info on old Carver boats. Literature on these craft is also available on the 'Net - I have some in my historical collection...

Its funny to see the strange looking powerplants they used to put on those old boats - those old West Bend Sterndrives were quite interesting if you ever get to see a picture of one. Glad that company went back to making blenders!!!

i took the family out boating today and was hoping to find the old carver sitting it ts slip, owner nearby, so i could chat with him about his boat. was sad to find the boat gone. about an hour later he went by us while we were anchored out,so it's still running.

There is a 63 on e bay 3400.00 goes off in two days. just beautiful to look at. with all of the repairs I have done this year and the best time line to be done is the first of July. I would be happy to drive any Carver
