Sea Tow Great South Bay Took Advantage of Us in Our Worst Moment

We paid the bill. Not the point. Thanks though.

Now you have no chance of getting them to reduce the amount! Sorry that this happened to you. My point is that your weren’t singled out or ripped off, or taken advantage of. This is what these providers charge for the service, and the market, and the insurers, have accepted it.

They just wanted to come on here and bash Sea Tow for an “unfair” charge even though they don’t know what they are talking about.

I am curious what kind of equipment it takes to perform this task. Did they have to drag floatation under the boat and inflate it? While it only took 20 minutes, they have to get there, they have to set up, perform the task, then return to base. What looks like 20 minutes actually can turn into several hours on their side.
If anyone thinks this is expensive, perhaps they should have tried to make it all happen themselves after finding the equipment, renting or purchasing it, setting it up, returning it, paying for it, etc....

What we did NOT expect was to be charged $2,610 for what amounted to less than 20 minutes of work to get our boat upright and the water out so it could be towed.

You didn't pay $2610 for 20 minutes work, you paid for the expertise and equipment required to keep your boat from sinking completely...

Could you have done it yourself?
