Why, yes, it is. The Lifeline program was started in 1984 by Ronald Reagan and expanded by Bill Clinton. The cellular part of the program was started under the Bush administration. All long before Obama was in the White House. So, yes, Obama had nothing to do with it.

It's as much an urban myth as when people say Sarah Palin said she could see Russia from her frond door, porch, house, whatever.

Both are total BS.

Why reasonably intelligent people on both sides of these discussions believe the crap they do and never invest the small amount of time it would take to research if what they are parroting is even partially true or not is beyond me.

Bobalong, Maybe read a bit more carefully. "Majority of these Boaters" not the Majority overall. True a majority voted the other way(dem) but that was supported by 46% of the population that doesn't contribute to the federal services we all share. (46% number is obtained via http://www.justfacts.com/taxes.asp)

As a "Liberal" , What could be more close-minded than assuming that not only are you right, but that you don't even need to consider another viewpoint because anyone who disagrees must be wrong?

Obamacare? Good or Bad? My view is based on NON-Partisan math and a business sustainability mindset, because after all I run a business.
