Alk to the rescue once again!

I didn't fix it (or break it!) ! Just waiting for our low budget hosts to fix whatever they broke this morning.

Way to go! I know it is a chore, but an explanation would be cool.

my earlier post is probably the only explanation we will get. They (our hosting service) broke it, now we are waiting on them to fix it. Or you can keep an eye here for updates., https://a2status.com/incidents/3371

There are benefits to using these low budget hosts for a forum such as this. Cost is about 5% what it would cost to host everything ourselves, or do it somewhere with guaranteed availability. And MUCH less work. But like everything, there are downsides. Some fool breaking the site, that we have no control over, being top of that list. But for the most part we can't complain. Soon coming up on our two-year anniversary here, and we've had only two incidents. They've found both of them, fixed the other one pretty fast, and hopfeully this one too.

the support team from Xenforo must hate me. Xenforo is the forum software we use (but not the host). Every time there is an error, I open a ticket with them. and it's never been their fault, it's always the host. Actually, I log in with the credentials of the guy in NH to open the ticket, so they probably hate him!

I'm used to it...I make a great scapegoat.

Not sure if this true for others, but on my iPad everything works fine. still all jacked up from my PC‘s.

But should be fixed soon, according to their tech support.

No trouble for myself using Verizon cell phone hotspot. In fact this site runs better than others LOL.

Still downloads a file when I click a forum on my PC.

it is resolved (at least according to them) - but I'm still having the issue with my Edge browser. Works fine in chrome on same PC, so probably going to have to clear my cache, delete the history, to get it working in this browser.

yes, had to clear my browsing history. this is probably going to be a bit painful for anyone who hasn't done it before?

Spent a few hours check site, observe auto download, delete download, then run a different file chucker "just cause". No bad stuff discovered ( which doesn't mean that It isn't there, just not found! )

But a good excuse to run CCleaner and sched a defrag ( jusr cus )

Of course, I run CC frequently, so that was no chore.

Sorry you had the headache, and glad it seems to be no longer observable.

Tks 4 the effort!
