I've been boating for 3 seasons now. I know the GSB gets snotty in the afternoon. But,I have seen the GSB at night looking like glass (usually while I'm playing softball at the East Islip Marina). What convergence of things need to happen for the water to be smooth at night? Full moon? Tides? Wind? I'm looking for a seafarer to let me know the conditions I'm looking for.
