So when does the shrink wrap come off?

I removed mine early a few years ago and did work in the yard for a few weeks, the boat ended up covered in sap from the trees?

Do you guys leave it on until just before it gets wet?

When are you scheduled to launch?
 
I usually uncover the week of......

and I make sure im not under a tree......

Took part of mine off about 3 weeks ago, and took the rest of it off a week ago. I'll be splashing in about a week or so! I unwrapped early do to the fact that I installed a windlass. It came out wonderfully! I can't wait to use it. Now I just sit at the helm and raise and lower the anchor on the pavement . . . I get funny looks from the admiral!

I usually wait until it's time to wax the hull. At one time I was always in a rush to take it off early, think it made me feel like spring would come along quicker. But now I feel that it's better to work with it on as long as it doesn't interfere with access to anything you need to work on.

I got the Simpson Lawrence Horizon 400. I got it on ebay pretty cheap. The project went very smoothly despite falling off a ladder and driling my index finger with a 11/32 drill bit . . . five stitches later, the windlass is great! If you want any advice/help with windlass lemme know.

Talk about a " rip off" literally....Just got my bill for spring recommissioning and our friends at SS3 are changing me $125 to remove and discard my shrink wrap that I paid over $400 to put on. You would think for the price of the install they would remove it no charge.. The marina I'm moving to this year will not charge for removal..

I never heard of a charge to remove the shrinkwrap - great way to lose customers!
 
I hope they kiss you when you pay the bill. I have never seen them charge for removal.

My shrink wrap came of Sunday, on way to boat now to finish waxing.
 
When I picked up my current boat in Glen Cove a few years ago they made me pay a $40 disposal fee to put the shrinkwrap that I removed from the boat in their dumpster.
 
I was reading ss3's comissioning rates...

100 for water system,
150 for a/c system

I was waiting for a price for the motors....

Canvas was over 100

Think about it ... take rommers 40 mulitply by 300 customers....

WOW...

and the shrink is recycled... So i think they get money for it ... not alot but there not paying ..

........ what is entailed in commissioning a water or A/C system......besides opening the seacock and filling the F/W tank and turning the systems on....that costs that much $$$$ ????

Was kinda caught off guard about it too. If I had known I would have brought bags to bag it up and take it home. Not so much the $40 just the principal of the thing.
 
Wow.
I'm really surprised. I keep my boat there and have found them to be lenient if anything.

I was at Brewers for 2 years and would have bet on them. They made it seem like it was a privilege for me to be there. At a premium price.
