Looks more like a dogfish than a sand shark. A true sand shark is typically large, with big teeth. I like your first shot though.

Five foot versions of the sand tiger have been spotted cruising under boats rafted up in Hemlock cove etc. Not much swimming on those days, but the shark is mainly interested in spawning or eating fish, there are few recorded attacks on humans.
Also check out spiny and smooth dogfish, one of those is what you have.
We want to see pictures of monster stripers, so we will give you a few weekends for that. Here is the formula: HT+CB=S
High tide + clam bellies just off the shore (preferably at dusk) = Stripers. Once again, nice photos of the sunsets. Good luck!

Spiny dogfish...we catch them all the time in NY. Watch out for the spine at the base of the dorsal fin...nasty. They also have alot of small razor teeth. Fun to catch though, give a good accounting of themselves on rod and reel.
