I am thinking a lot about all that hidden crap out there for when we bring the new boat home from Delaware. I would not want to hit something on the way back as I do not believe that the Jersey Shore will have any marinas available to pull into. Once we spend the night in Atlantic City it will be a straight non-stop run to Haverstraw.... I am sure the ocean will be cleaner than the bays but will still need to be very careful....
 
Nice, I am letting all you guys go in first. By the time I am back from Hawaii you guys should be hauling out and having your props reconditioned.

Mike make sure you scoped out Bowline and the channel. If I am dropping my anchor in, I don't want anything in my way.

With inflation I would have thought they would've rename that bridge, c note bridge or paper money bridge can't even get gum for a penny anymore!

I could not agree more rommer/VS!!

Last weekend I took a look at the Tom's River area down the shore & the bay is loaded with debris. At low tide we were able to see the roof of a house in the bay, I have no idea how much of the house was still attaced below it. But there are sunken boats, walls, docks, what looked like a chimmney or something, cars etc poking through at low tide. Don't know if it can be seen at high since the bay is pretty shallow but the stuff probably moves around too. It's going to take a very long time to even get close to normal.
 
Penn station in Baltimore is not that far by Amtrak from NY and the inner harbor leads to 120 mile long bay. May be a good place to bring a boat for a season or two
 
The problem is getting to Amtrak from where we live. No stations nearby.
 
Within a few weeks of the boating season boaters will finds the hazards and all will be well. I just hope I'm not the one who finds the debris.
 
Since you guys at Haverstraw can go in and out whenever you want, and don't have to worry about tides, I would think that you would find the obstructions much sooner. After all, you'll be out a lot more than we will...

Let us know what you hit.
 
I plan on getting in and spending a lot of time in my slip at least until a few people act as mine sweeps and clear the way for everyone.

I'm counting on you to test the waters! You are one of the few with as deep if not a deeper draft to clear the path for the rest of us:) Boy am I glad you bought a bigger boat!

I have no big travel plans this year so I'm good with spending much of the season in my slip at least until the River is proven safe by Rommer.
