I have a 7" variable speed HF polisher, model 92623. The speed adjustment knob goes from min, one bar, two bars, three bars, four bars, five bars, and max. Does anyone know which speed adjustment mark corresponds to 1500 RPM, and is that the speed I want to operate at? Thanks for the help.

What is the Max rpms of the machine?
It should tell you in the manual...Pro rate it from that information..

dunno if that is 1500 but the compound you use will normally tell you what speed to apply it at. The compound I use with wool pads for heavy oxidation says 1500.
