Spring Boaters Fling

LOL Next time I'm over that way, I'll check my Lowrance GPS to see if it is a problem on mine! When I got my very first GPS, it said I was on land everywhere I wnt by boat! Then I purchased and downloaded the "real" S/W and I've been on water ever since! The boat is relieved to be floating.....

The area by Irish landing is where Sandmound Slu joins Old River on my Delta Map. Maybe my GPS labels it differently. I'll have to check. Also, my charts are on the boat, so I'll have to see what those waters are labeled on them too.

Yes, you enter the SJ Channel at Lost Isle.........

Hi all,

I am up for Village West and garlic brothers or a potluck. I went there once from Oxbow and stayed on the "back Sloughs", passing Tower Park, H&H's, and it was a nice trip. I made it out to the river, passed Lost Isle (stopped for a little visit), and then back to the sloughs. It was a great trip.

I will be doing slow (it's all I do these days) so maybe we can meet up with the folks from the Loop and cruise together. Always nice to have company, not that anything will go amis in my boat!

Jim

I like the idea of a Delta Loop Armada descending enmasse upon the unsuspecting innocents of where ever we decide to go. I'm glad you'll be going slow, CN, since that's my only speed. Count me in!! I like the idea of Village West also since I've never boated in that area and would enjoy checking out the local waters. Potluck sounds like fun, too. I can make my BBQ babyback ribs.

What's a good weekend for this? This week I happen to be giving my boss my vacation requests for the year. I have a 4-day weekend March 26-29 and open weekends in April and most of May. Are we talking a Fri afternoon through Sunday morning rendezvous?

Sounds like a fun weekend!!

If we do a full or long weekend, we could do dinner Garlic Bros and BBQ on the dock too!!!! Going east is wise for the spring when winds might be making things rough. If you time your cruise east with an incoming tide, the waters are really quite smooth. Name a weekend so I can get it on my calendar!

Anytime, any place is good for me. Village West/Garlic Bros is good.

yes my wife an i would like to meet everyone at garlic brothers bye paul ps if it rains we won't be there

I will be there 28-March(Sat) thru 29-March(Sun), planning to spend the night there.

Comfortably Numb, Thank You.

If it not too cold this March, I'll be towing "Rainbow Chaser" to the Spring Fling behind my cruiser. I have built 5 of these cats. This on is my second proto type and the last one built. I have had it up to 60-65 mph(7400rpm) depending on the weight on board. This last year I reduced the engine power, now it does almost 50 mph 5500rpm, I'm also 61 years old now. will post a pic after I learn how to use the site.
