synthetic deck material

I want to replace a wood section of my boat floor with something synthetic. I've found Starboard and Taco products but was wondering if there might be others and if one is superior to the others. Thanks for any suggestions.

Dont think Starboard would be good for floor, It is slippery and not very rigid. Marine grade Plywood covered w/Fibreglass should work.

Starboard doesnt stick well with others. It will hold a screw, but not glue. I agree with Jmas

teh problem with starboard is that it's a little flexible and requires good support, so you'll need closely space framing and thicker material.

it's not slippery though, at least the XL (light). i used a piece in one of my showers and never slipped on it..

Plasteak or Flexteek might be a consideration. Check their web sites for info.

Starboard has a new product out actually made for this application. It has a diamond pattern non-skid surface. It can be purchased in various thicknesses if strength is an issue.

I've used PlasTeak products and find them to be excellent. Used the dimension 'lumber' to re-do my swim platform steps, and they haven't faded because of the sun, and they are not slippery. I know they make a decking material that looks like teak&bead.
