It's June 27th and already I squished 7 of those green eyed monsters! Not sure if this means an extended seasons with those pricks or will it be a short one since they are so early?
Any biters.. I mean takers?

Well captkate, Maybe if you ran your vessel down to those glorious colorful waters of So. Fla. You would never have to think of those greenies again..maybe just some sunscreen..
Nice web page!

ok.. you got me Capt.Chas Your right. The truth is, I'm too chicken $%!T. I'm all by my lonesome with usually 4-6 kids. :(((((

Hate to be a party pooper, but you're not supposed to adverstise your business on BoaterEd...

Our boat is in Freeport, have not seen one green fly yet this season!

Lighten up Francis(Hogan). It's not an advertisement, just a link in her signature to her website where she can put anything she wishes. I don't believe she has broken any rules. I personally am glad she put the link there because I lost my mother to cancer in 2000 and went through the exact same experience she described going through with her sister. It was comforting to read that piece in her inspiration page. Thank you for sharing that Katie.

Rich, obviously you didn't read the terms you (and Katie) agreed to when you signed up here - NO advertising!

Her link is to her charter business, pure and simple. Others have been booted off BoaterEd for doing the same. Katie really should know better.

As moderator of HRCC, I took a load of sh*t because a fellow HRCC'r who has a band, "advertised" that he was playing at a local bar. The rules apply to all.

HOLD ON.........HOLD ON............. let me get my beer & popcorn !!!!!!

After rereading the user agreement it seems you are correct. The no advertisement section, does to me, seem a little to restrictive for a public forum such as this. I could see not allowing commercial interests or those in direct competition with Boatfix.com to post here. But to put the kibosh on someone announcing their band is playing out or a benign link to a personal website because it says they perform a service for hire is silly to me. To me that doesn't qualify as an advertisement and I like knowing who does what on this site in case I need something. I guess it's to each moderator to decide what is and what is not permissible. That's just my opinion. But, according to the rules as they are written it seems you are right.

I may be wrong but I"m gonna put my two cents in also.
I think the reason for it is because this IS a Sponsered site .... ( Boatfix ) ?? and even though some of the links etc. that are posted in here sometimes aren"t in direct conflict or competition with them as a business......it would however direct a person from THIS site to another site that the sponsors of THIS site know nothing about in regards to dependability .reliability.etc. etc. as far as any services they may offer and therefore cannot and will not endorse them or the companies affiliated with them. Consequently they aren"t allowed to advertise THEIR services on somebody else"s site.
(Correct me if I"m wrong)

Also probably has alot to do with the fact that we live in an ever increasing litigous society. ( probably didn"t spell that right )

I understand that you cannot post a URL to a commercial site, but how about networking? I've had contact in the past and hopefully in the future with members with similar work interests. I've gained from this and hope others may have gained from me. I did not see anything pertaining to this in the terms of agreement section.

I guess Les will be the final judge. I"ll refrain from further comment till he"s heard from.
Of course.that may be a while because I heard he was out with Maxwell Smart polishinmg Anchors for new members at a secret location. Rumor has it that Maxwell picked him up in his newly acquired watercraft and they motored off into the distance and nobody"s been able to raise them.

Barney-fife I mean Hogan

Oh Goodness. I'm so sorry. I really didn't think of it that way and would never try and bend any rules for my own gain, but your right, it's part of membership rules and I will do it stat.

Now for the kicker. That's my new email address and I can't see where on my sig. it has the url to my site other than on the RO menu :(((( Please guide me.

Again, hope I didn't offend anyone, it's not in my character.
