Thanks Mike, Good to know, if you come up with a name, let me know.
Rob, What a great idea and you could put a slide on each side of the pile bolting through. Do you remember the size pipe they used?
Kurt, I'm a little afraid of the tide minders as the loop could go over the top of the pole in a storm surge and the tide slides are a little pricey as I remember. What I've got is 6 medium sized pilings (about 8" in diameter) and the stern to the dock. I have a 45' Chris Craft commander Motor yacht weighing about 45,000 lbs. There is normally about a 2' or less rise and fall of tide and I'm in a protected area from wind and waves. What I need to do is keep the boat in as much the same position as I can for boarding from the stern from the aft deck to a fixed dock. Sorry about the long windiness, but it's a little complicated.
Bruce, thinking about it you could always slide a bar inside the pipe to give it more strength.
Thanks guys,
Billy K.
