Transom door...

Hello, I am considering a transom door on my 35 Alura. Does anyone have any experience with this? I recently looked at a similar sized Egg, and all that was done, was a large (4x4), glassed in under the floor against the transom to carry the load to each bulkhead. What do ya think?

Not sure how your boat is constructed.

I would want the transom built up to at least 4" before I cut a section out of it. The higher the transom above the deck, the thicker the transom...for strength. I tend to overbuild, though.

i just think the transom doors are better left alone unless the boat came with it
