Here's the scoop. I have taco outriggers on my 2001 aquasport 275 explorer. one of them is very difficult to swivel outwards. The lever will move up and down but when i attempt to pivot it the mechanism binds up.When i called taco marine they advised me the product has been discontinued (gs-150) and as such they no longer make the internal parts for refurbishment or repair. The taco rep told me to break them down and clean them then apply lithium grease heavily and reassemble. I'm using sea foam deep creep to penetrate and clean the gears and a heavy wire brush to lose the rust. Lithium grease will then be applied at the end. Any other suggestions how i can keep these once relubed and clean in good working order? any assistance is greatly appreciated.
