Quit paying for those annoying "If it's your boat, it's your responsibility" commercials that play every five minutes on the radio.

LOL Those spots are paid for 100% by Cal Boating. Yup your boating tax dollars at work! They played heavily over the holiday weekend when lots of new/inexperienced boaters get on the water for this first time this season. I'm sure the media blitz will happen again for July 4th holiday.

In addition to the upcoming, June 2 and 3 hearing of the two-house, 10-member Budget Conference Committee, the state Senate is scheduling each of the Governor’s re-organization and consolidation proposals to be heard in the pertinent Senate policy committees.

This means that the Governor’s proposed elimination of the independent Cal Boating will be considered in the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Water. The membership of the 11-member committee is set forth below.

Initial hearing dates are not set but could be as early as June 8.

I received an email from Jerry Desmond, Jr. stating that we will probably lose this battle based on the Governor's speech today. Bye bye boater tax dollars. [Not the taxes, just the application of said taxes.]
