I am in the process of getting Saint Max back to Bristol condition or as close as possible. There was a lot of nasty pollution at my former marina that damaged my canvas and oxidized the glass. I had the boat detailed a few weeks ago. It is better than two months ago and will do until the spring. The bottom has been pressure washed and painted. The custom hard top, coupled with new gold leaf and black boot and pin stripes give her a bit of a custom look. I cleaned and preserved the helm with Malco cleaner and PB2. It looks fine, feels good and has UV inhibitors. PB2 has silicones in it and I do not know if that is damaging to the material or not.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good vinyl cleaner and preservative or is my present course OK? Is Flitz the way to go on the railings?

As an aside...Why is a 30 amp 50' power cord less expensive than a 25' and why is it cheaper to but a cord than the ends to make up a custom length cord to leave at home port?

Yes it is the end of the season, however, in VA, this is the time to get ready for fall cruising. Fall cruising rocks.

TIA

I'm with you about Fall cruising, love it here in the NW. As far a Vinyl cleaner goes i have been using the magic eraser to get the nitty gritty out followed by Mcquires Vinyl cleaner and conditioner for a sheen life shine to it. So far I have been happy with it but not alone, the eraser really does the cleaning.

I have had excellent results with spray nine to clean my vinyl followed up with a coating of starbrite vinyl protectant. While I have been extremely happy with that combo I have recently been turned on to some collinite products for my hull....their wax is amazing. That being said I recently discovered that they also make a vinyl cleaner/wax protectant. I asked the owner of my local store to pick me up a bottle so I can give it a try. I will make sure I follow up in a few weeks to let you know of my results. In the meantime good luck with your projects.

David, trust me on this one. Maguires Heavy duty vinyl and rubber cleaner and a nylon scrub brush. I've never seen a product work so well. I don't bother with anything else.

What about preservation after the cleaner?

They make another product called conditioner and protectant. I use them both. You can't go wrong with these products.
