I'm looking at older (85-90) Viking Yacht 35s. It appears they changed the air intakes on the diesel models from the cockpit to the long horizontal type on the sides of the hull. Is this to reduce noise in the cockpit (and does it help) or is it to provide more and drier air? Any other considerations?
