What is the range?

Direct drive with no transmission (assuming), I would guess the torque is amazing. I just can't imagine having enough power available to reach 100 mph much less having any kind of range. Must be at least some kind of recapture/recharge (partial at least) underway for the speed and range it does get.

Wonder if there are added sound effects to make it sound more badass.

That is why it will not sell here, well one reason.
Would be a nice change for those that have to listen to the noise.

Could make for a very fast and stealthy vessel for say SEAL teams. If it has any real range.

Imagine the weight of that thing!!!! At least when you burn off fuel the boat gets lighter making for better efficiency. Not this boat.

My guess MAYBE 10 mi at full speed. Might make a fun drag boat though...

746 watts = 1 HP. 2200 HP = 1,641kW. At 70% efficiency the total watts would be 2,790 kW. Battery capacity 240 kWH. Disregarding that the draw down of the battery is actually much smaller than the rated capacity.....

240kWH/2790kW= ,09 hours or about 5 minutes. Realistically the boat can probably do max output for about 2 minutes before the lithium batteries catch fire and the boat sinks.

Went by the exhibit at the Boat Show today. Hot looking girl tending the booth had very limited info but told me it will run 2 hrs at 70mph. Couldn't tell me if there was any recapture/recycle/recharge while under way. The fact that I can't find that info openly published makes it suspicious.

Maybe it has a diesel generator to charge the batteries while under way. Complete waste in my opinion! A two hour limit is a joke what a waste of time and money.

+1

But if they can sell it to folks who have too much money on their hands, it'll be a success!!

There cannot possibly be ANY energy recapture while underway. The only possible energey capture for an electric vehicle is when decelerating. A wheeled vehicle (which could coast for a long distance) can recapture the energy that goes into heating the brakes. But boats don't coast a significant distance when you remove power and don't have brakes; so all the kinetic energy is simply dissipated into fluid drag.

Try this experiment. Accelerate you 4000 pound car to 45 mph then put it in neutral. Then with your much heavier boat at 45 mph put your engines in neutral. Which one do you think will "coast" further? The huge difference is coasting distance is due to the higher fluid drag on the boat which negates any chance of recovering kinetic energy.

At the pier I am in my marina there is one of those brand new hybrid electric sailboats. Just last week i noticed that seatow had to come out to help get is back in its slip since it was windy and do had rundown the batteries far enough that it just didn't have the power to maneuver itself.
This whole electric and or hybrid stuff is all BS to make un informed people feel good.
