What to use to prevent green rusting on chrome

Spent most of my time getting the hull and cockpit and ready for the season, must have cleaned it so well that now I realized my toggle swiches and chrome bezels are pitted with with green stains. I know there is a term for it, can't think of it now. Either way, I can use my finger nail to remove the green stains, but I was wondering what you all suggest to prevent it? I was going to go with a dremmel and buff tip.

Get some Flitz paste metal polish.

Don't know what to use use to prevent it. I use my wife to clean it though.

Thanks, I do believe the gauge and switch cleaning goes along with the rail polishing, which does fall under the wife's duty. I'll let her know the good news!
