What type of wool pad for Buff Magic

Are there different types of wool pads to use with Buff Magic? I've read different posts regarding a yellow wool pad. Went looking for one this weekend, and all I could find was a creme colored one. Since this is my first time using Buff Magic I did a small section. Everything was fine except when I got to close to some of the stainless fittings. I started to get black streaks even after spurring the pad. Since I have a lot of small areas with stainless around, is there any way to stop the black streaks?

The black steaks are the results of polishing the SS. The only way to avoid them would be to not touch or perhaps tape off the SS as you polish. But they should wash off.
