Since it is probably too early to start talking about next year's boat trips, I thought I'd ask what everyone has planned in the way of boat projects this winter?

For me, the big items are to strip and re-do the bottom and a list of engine work. Nothing major, but some old gaskets that are weeping oil, so a fair amount of labor involved.

Also going to have all of the sanitary hoses replaced. A yucky job I prefer not to do myself. :-)

Last time you posted the thread went in another direction, do you think it will happen again? :)
I am thinking about a hardtop, door to seal off the bridge, new carpet in the salon, AC and heat on the bridge. The AC on the bridge is something I could do myself, the rest would be left to the pros. The hardtop with new glass will cost me between $8100 to 12k depending on which way I do it, of course it is the 12k way that I like. I think the only thing I will do is the carpet in the Salon, the rest is a wish list. :)

Here's my list :.......

1) Im planning on swapping out my 2 - 9" TV/VCR's for 2 - 15"/19" LCD/DVD's units.

2) redoing all the tops with new (Teal Tweed) sunbrella.

3) change over to 4 blade props.

4) possible bow thruster in the spring.
 
Reupholster my couch.

Repair/replace my engines.

Get generator fixed.

Maybe add an AC unit for the head.

Drink all the booze I had left on the boat at the end of the season.
 
So i guess i shouldnt tell u guys I have most of next years trips planned ??

Never to early to plan!!!!

Crusair just came out with a new smaller model.... Look into it ... Use mike rb2@gr5t marine specialists

Friends go every year... last year they went all the way to MD. ( stopped in Atlantic city )

Great tiem they have... oh and they stop in WILD WOOD too

We went this year and had a great time. Looks like it will be an annual stop for us now.

1- New air horn.
2- New windless.
3- New holding tank.
4- Replace spreader lights.
5- New Macerator for fishbox and fill holes last owner drilled in same for rod storage????
6- Tune up and do required maintenance on engines.
7- Pray twins are old enough so wife and I can actually enjoy using the boat this upcoming season.

Our boat need very little as long as I stay away from the south shore :D

we started to use the bridge a couple of times this year so I may replace the NorthStar 951 with a new Garmin

Mostly adding new projects at work to pay for fuel

Agreeing to work on it, and actually getting it working are two entirely different things!
 
I still have to get past the winterization stage before I really start thinking about winter projects. I get hauled out next Friday. I may get new carpeting, otherwise nothing major that I can think of, but I'll have a list of small projects. Usually the list grows the more I think about it... Still need to get the outriggers on also, that will have to wait for launch though when the boat is back in the water.
 
Walter, are you going for a wood floor or carpet? Me, I'd like to say I'm never replacing the carpet since a hard wood floor with throw rugs seems to work best.
 
I looked into real wood and plasteek.
Real wood will not look good because of all the hatches in the salon, to many custs that need molding or trim in such a small area.
Plasteek, was just way to expensive (more than real wood), I was quoted around $80.00 a square foot installed. What is nice about the plasteek is it would not require any trim around the hatches.

One of my concerns about using real wood or plasteek was the noise in the salon while underway, the carpet acts as noise barrier, the wood would not. If my motors were not in the salon then this would not be a problem.

I just added a new guy for the metro NY area 4 weeks ago-
BUT - if your guy Doesn’t hook up with Jeff - I have a couple of clients(cablevision & Keyspan IT Depts) on LI that I could forward his CV to
