where are the seals

Heading out tommorow. I keep hearing about the seals in Jones can anyone give me some info on where they are or have been. Thanks

Between the bridges Wantagh and meadowbrook. I didnt see any today... ill be out tomorrow looking ....

Sometimes they even come closer into the bay, just past the Wantagh bridges and sun on the marsh/ sand just east of the bridges and channel. You can see a good 30-50 of them, but it's too early for that now. Happens a later in December/ January.
 
How far into the bay do they come ??? Any ever make it as far as Amittyvile/Lindenhurst ???

My bad .. yes thast what I meant..... Honestly was way too cold... Don came down I really wanted to go for a ride... IT WAS COLD !!!

I was out there today and the seals were not. Beautiful day, but it was a bit cold. Thought it would be perfect seal weather!
 
I'm still waiting on my dock for Rob :)

Saw more seals yesterday..... really cool... same place...

Alot boats out for a not so nice day....

there were a bunch on the bar inside of Shinnecock Bay.
 
Thanks Perry. Hope that means they are working their way southwest towards FI and Jones Inlets.
 
Where can I find the seals? State channel? Wantagh? Captree? etc..?
 
Read dons post states exactly where ull see them just as u turn off the state channnel between the bridges....

With the ice on the buoy, I figured those pictures are from last season. Depending on weather, I will be taking a cruise with family to see seals this weekend. Thanks,,
 
Rob is right... I have seen them between the bridges in the past. Sometimes, they even sneak closer, sunning on the sandy beaches just east of the Sloop Channel/ Wantagh Parkway bridge. Awesome sights.
