Wood grain door and table top are hazy

I bought a used 2004 Monterey 245CR a year ago. The door to the head and the cabin table top have a wood grain smooth finish which should be glossy. If you look at the door especially with the sun shining on it, it looks hazy and smeary. I've tried various cleaners without success.

I noticed one day that if I used my finger nail I actually got some of the "haze" to come off. I'm thinking maybe there was one of those filmy clear protectors that was stuck on the surface when it was manufactured and when it was removed it left behind some adhesive? I don't know!

Anyway I tried using some goof-off and with around 20 minutes of scrubbing with a rag I was able to get a 3"x3" area looking good. It was very intense scrubbing and I used a lot of goof-off or "goo-gone" to do it.

Anybody else encountered this. It would take me a million years to completely clean the door and table top using this goof-off method. Any suggestions on something that might work better?

Thanks,
Kelly
