I've read not to use an oil-based wood polish due to it molding over the winter. I actually saw evidence of that this year. I had used an oil-based polish early last year. This year after winter layup, there were spots on the wood that came off but needed some scrubbing.

So, what do you use to polish wood cabinetry on a boat?

Thanks in advance for your wisdom and experiences.

I've had my boat for almost 16 yrs. I've only used oil based polish [Liquid Gold] on the teak trim in my cabin and cockpit. I have never had an mold on it, even one winter when my boat got full of mold on the canvas in a boat yard. Perhaps your environment contributes to this, but I never heard or seen it. Maybe you need to bring your boat to California! JK

Flutterby,

California sounds good! Maybe I'll give the Liquid Gold a try.

Thanks for the reply!

Seatart,

Good lead. I checked the web - it does look like a good product and is oil free. If I don't hear anything else here, I'll give it a try.

Thanks!
