I have been doing a lot of reading on auto detailing sites and these 2 products get great reviews from users. I am interested in going with the sealer route instead of a tradtional wax. The auto "gurus" say that an application of Zaino lasts for anywhere between 6-8 months (ie. an entire season for me). The Klasse All-in-one (AIO) has the added benfit of having some cleansing properties as well as being an acrylic sealent. The recommended topcoat for the Klasse is called Klasse sealent glaze, which unfortunately some say is difficult to remove, a big no-no for me. However, AIO along with spray on-wipe off sealents might be a possible combination. I understand that a lot of people like the Collinite products, but from spending many hours researching and reading the info on the auto site, Zaino especially, Klasse and other sealents made for cars seam to have phenominal durability, UV protection, and shine. My question is has anyone tried any of these products on gelcoat? I ordered some Zaino for my cars so I will be able to see what the application procedures are like. Also, can these products do damage to my gelcoat? I have read that in terms of compounds, auto compounds arent as effective on gelcoat because the gelcoat is harder, so I can understand using compounds made specifically for gelcoats. My goal is to get minor cleaning, high shine, long durability, and UV protection. Also, my boat is a '05 34 Forumula PC which is stored indoors in the winter and is in the water under a covered slip from April-November. I would say 75% of the gelcoat is in excellent condition with some very light oxidation on from 6 feet from where the sun gets to it under the slip. Also has anyone tried using clay as a pre-wax cleaner?
