Canvas Top

I have quite the canvas story. Took 5 months to get done. Put a deposit on the job mid March, top was delivered Friday Memorial Day weekend. Front eisenglass Fourth of July weekend. Rear canvas mid August.. If that was not bad enough. Turned out the guy was light in the loafers. Kept asking me out. Had to take one of my daughters down with me when I met him to protect me.

You should let us know who it was so we don't use him, then he might ask our wife's out! In second thought maybe we will get a discount? :-)

So it looks like I'm going to bite the bullet this year and do not just the new top but new cockpit carpet and a new bow cushion as well, mine is old and looks like hell it's time to freshen things up a bit.

Nice, I am getting a new carpet as well! Yours will probably get done first though if you know what I mean!!

One never knows have you asked him when they will be ready? I'm ordering mine on line he told me it would be cheaper, I know what a salesman:) I know he was trying to tell me he would do a better job but it's the same carpet and this is what the do everyday I'm sure they can do a good job.

Dang Dave. Your going all out this year. My bow cushions look new under the canvas. I don't think they have ever been used. I plan to take them off and store them in the house since we just do not use them.

Be sure to post some pictures when it is all done.

Well I'm happy to say this project is complete the new top is done and looking good! I went with a poly front window I really like the way it came out. The window in the rear curtain is huge and everything looks like it will be water tight but I will have to wait for the rain to know for sure. The bow cushions have been replaced foam and all with a self draining foam so it won't soak up water. The old ones where worse then I thought, they look really bad when they were cut open. I also had new covers made for the bow as well as the helm.

The last thing on my list is the new cockpit carpet which I just have to make the templates for and I should have in a few weeks. It's been a busy year for upgrades and I happy with how things have been progressing. I almost forgot I also added another 8D battery to help my standby time while on the hook.

Now all that's left is to have a great season. I hope we all have a safe enjoyable year!
