What were you trying to do with the decals? I don't think magic erasers will remove decals but they should certainly be able to clean them. Did you have the Magic Eraser wet enough? I find they work excellent on anything I've tried to use them on.
I would think that if I had bought a Magic Eraser, thinking beforehand that it was going to remove a decal, that somehow I must have heard something wrong.
Isn't it obvious that they wouldn't remove a decal without actually trying to do it?
Bill, use a heat gun (not too close) to heat up the decal, then a putty knife or flat thin metal strip to begin prying it off the gelcoat. You can also use 3M Adhesive Remover to clean the gelcoat after you remove the decal to get off the last drop of glue. *Careful with the heatgun if you never used one.
