Pascal, Nancy, and Naomi, Thanks for the great adventure of the past couple of weeks. I feel as if I was there with you. I will have withdrawls for days now but maybe I can get some work done now.

LOL! That must be his mellowed out persona. In reality, I hear a true Parisian. Something more along the line of an indignant, "Qu'est-ce que c'il y a? Salle #%&!"
Can't wait to hear how it works out with the dinghy! And you must have been saving coffee cans all week to put the waste oil in.

Someone mentioned the Cliff Walk... It's worth it ! Have the cabbie drop you at the 40 steps then walk right or South. Ocean on one side and Mansions on the other. Rhode Island has some of the best Ocean front in the world. They have done a great job making sure the public has some great access points to the Ocean Front. BTW .. I'm not from RI
Ocean drive would be a good cab ride from bellevue Ave out to Brenton Point and back to Americas cup,.. downtown, It's very picturesque...Great sun sets... To bad OBX wasn't with you to take pics for us.
If you want a good burger try YESTERDAYS.... H20 is very good along with tons of other places as your seeing.

Good morning all...Naomi here...I'm taking that cliff walk today. Thnks for the reminder, Mark. Gorgeous Day!!! I need to shop for some adequate clothes to help carry pails of oil and assist with the oil change...or I could just wear some of Pascal's clothes...hee hee hee. A woman's gotta do what a woman's gotta do.
I'm aching to go sailing here! I even brought my sailing gloves and wet suit. Maybe if a sailboat comes close enough, I'll hang over the swim platform with flailing arms and yell "Help me! Help me!"
BTW, I am in awe of this forum and its ROs. You have made this planet a lot smaller and ever so caring. I never knew this could happen due to the Internet.

You could just mix it with some clean diesel to thin it out a bit and put it in your fuel tanks. I've done it a number of times. I used to have a letter from CAT that stated you could mix up to 10% oil to fuel and run it through their engines.

If you want to go sailing, they have sunset cruises (and other times) available on the old 12-meter America's Cup race boats.
It's at 49 Bowen's Wharf.
These are much different than the Hobie Cats you are used to handling, but could be fun.

"Wouldn't that leave crud in the engine? I assume you'd filter it before adding it to the fuel, but I can't imagine you could get it all."
Your fuel filters take care of that. In many cases they are finer than you oil filter.
You can set up a blending pump to mix oil and fuel together and pump it through a filter before it goes into the fuel tank if you wanted to get fancy with it.

well, the oil change was fun 
Scott gave me a ride to NAPA where i had found reasonable priced oil ($59 a pail vs $109 at the marinas....) and helped me bring it to the boat. The sight of the lil 13' whaler with 10 pails was a little weird but it worked out fine.
yet another enjoyable get together with an RO...
the only marina who would accept the used oil wanted $4 a gallon!!! so we called a cab and took it back to NAPA, right at closing time and i had to insist to have them let us drop it off 5 minutes after closing time. I called them from the cab and they first said no, come back tomorrow...
i've heard of diluting old oil and burning it, but i'm not willing to take the risk with such high performance engines...
Newport is indeed the best stop so far. wow... nice downtown area, the mansions and the Cliff Walk! that was fantastic! one of the best and most scenic walk/path i've done in years.
Tomorrow is the last leg, leaving early probably around 6am... looks like good weather ahead. lat night we had to wear FOUR layers of clothing and were still cold in the dinghy! tonight we need just two!

Admiral Janet and I wish we were up in RI now to say hi, and see that beautiful boat. Maybe we'll see you for the next delivery, or maybe see you in SoFL sometime. Have a safe final leg of your trip.

I postponed my boat buffing and waxing a bit to take the drive to Newport. I spent an enjoyable afternoon with Pascal and Naomi. We did indeed load the oil by dinghy. We took Naomi to cliff walk and made the Ocean Drive circuit. Had a good lunch at the Black Pearl. The weather was beautiful today and Pascal and Naomi should have a nice ride to Nantucket tomorrow.
Pascal, I'm glad you got the chance to take the walk. Naomi stated she wasn't leaving Newport until Pascal had taken the walk. Naomi went twice I assume. It was very nice to meet you and Naomi and I hope to meet up again... Maybe next time in Miami
I got to see the boat. It is very nice. Nancy has a great summervacation home on the water here. The aft lounge deck is stunning.
