nope... i was fixing the windshield wiper tubes and scrubing gunk off the windshield!

the webcam will be up till thursday afternoon, when i fly back home... then it will be back to regular biscayne bay programming!

Thank you for including us to travel with you on this wonderful voyage. I have already looked at the pictures you downloaded earlier. I am so sorry to have the trip end. I have enjoyed it immensely. Have a safe trip home and hope you get another delivery soon. It beats the heck out of everyday work week.
 
Hi All. Naomi here. I'm finally unpacked and logged in as the newest member. I registered because I wanted my own identity. Plus, I couldn't keep using Pascal's log-in. He's still in Nantucket and I'm back in Miami after 16 hours of travelling. Have you seen the pictures? My favorites are the shots of the gaff-rigged schooners taken in Newport while chasing after beautiful rigs at sunset on the dinghy. Tired and cold sailors were returning from a regatta as the sun was peeking out from the lowest clouds on the horizon. We happened to be on the dinghy with my trusty old weatherproof Olympus. Pascal turned the dinghy into a moving tripod...location, location, location. You'll see once he loads those pics on sandbarhopper.com. (Scott, I hope you approve.)

This trip was the most adventurous I have ever experienced. I would've never believed that I would enjoy it more than snowboarding in the Midwest or any vacation in Europe. Pascal, you are the Captain Of My Heart, and all you ROs were the glaze on the rum cake!

I got hooked and spend hours each day watching the webcam. I even watched Pascal go to the fuel dock today for what appeared to be a pumpout and then go back to the mooring. That has to show it is addicting.
 
As Bob Hope used to say.........Thanks for the memories! This has been very interesting for all of us. Great job.
 
i've uploaded about 200 pics up to just before newport, will have the rest done within a coupe of days, incl. sailboats at Newport and the spectacular cliff walk.

the weather sucks here... at least it's not raining today but a solid 20 kts in the harbor. Yesterday, picking up the mooring solo with that wind wasn't fun, after 2 failed attempts off the bow I grabbed it from the stern and walked it thru... much easier.

I looked at the photos last night, and there sure are some spectacular ones. What is it about bridges that's so cool?

Sixteen hours Nantucket to MIA?? What's up with that? Doesn't sound like much fun.

I'm a little confused about the dinghy. The one on Charmer is an inflatable, but you used a Whaler for the oil run. Does Charmer carry two tenders?

I can help with that. Charmer carries a RIB dinghy. Pascal picked up a whaler that Nancy had in CT and towed it the rest fo the way. The dinghy is still on top of Charmer.
 
Did you get the inverter issue cleared up? From the sounds of it, you got the Battery Monitor Kit and that is what was not talking to the remote, as the BMK is what tracks state of charge, amp hours, et al. It has to go through a full charge cycle before registering. Another cause might be the way the shunt was installed; anyway, Magnum offers (or at least they did to me) great tech support. My full system (MS4024, AGS, BMK) works great.

I forgot that you have to get the battery monitor in addition to the remote to use all the functions/meters. so no problem, voltage and Amps In/out is fine... Inverter works great! we're getting a full day out of the 16 golf cart batteries running one icemaker, 3 double drawers Subzeros, and the entertainment system.
 
by inverter built in charger... about 80Amps at 24v. We run the genny 4 to 5 hours at night...

I second the horseshoe crab. You will see those routinely. Every now and then you will find a live one in the shallows.
 
Pretty cool creature. Their blood is actually used in making sure medicines are not laced with bacteria.
