Miami - Nantucket live on Webcam...

If you flipped over the horseshoe crab, you would see the legs and claws / pinchers underneath it's shell. That straight tail you see sticking out can stick straight in the air, and you don't want to step on it. I think they have blue blood. They're one of the most ancient creatures on the planet, supposedly one of the last few remnants left over from the age of dinosaurs. I haven't confirmed that.... no time to look irt up right now.
 
i use Active Webcam by PYsoft. cheap, works very well, many options.
the GPS is uploaded via GOOPS (freeware)

Other than stepping on a dead one while stubblin' rum dumb on the beach, a Horseshoe Crab will not harm you. The tail has no barb and is only a tail.
 
I've always been amazed at nature, and how it adapts. The tail is used to help the horseshoe crab flip itself over. No other purpose.

Go to http://photobucket dot com/ or similar site sign up and post your picture there. You will then link your post here to that picture by using the tag (URL) provided by photobucket for that picture. You will compose your post and then "paste" in the photobucket "tag" and when you post to the forum your picture on photobucket will appear in the post.

Fine by me! I'll try to follow Ted's steps anyway. I, personally, would love to post Pascal's crotch shot...but I understand it would not have the same effect on any of yous. Besides, someone already beat me to it!

well, indeed back to miami and "Regular programing" :-)

had a nice trip back... great weather and terrific view of the island and the cape in the Cape Air Cessna 402. I was concerned with the 1 hr connection at Logan but there were no lines at checking or security... it was a loooong walk though!

Ahhh the familiar sight of your Miami slip...I can feel the heat and humidity coming right through the webcam. What a great trip, I was in such awe, I didn't have much to say or add, but I must tell you I spent hours watching...kept the webcam up most days at the office. My co-workers think I'm a nut! Thanks for sharing your trip with us....it was like being along for the ride with an old friend. A funny thing, last week I left it up on my home computer and went to work. My wife calls later ask in an accusing tone "What is Sandbarhopper, there is this camera thing on the computer...exactly what have you been doing?!" Funny thing, she was convinced I had been looking at porn on the computer and was almost disapointed to find out it was boat stuff.

Glad to see that Pascal has given his boat a good washing! P, I bet your boat seems awfully small after spending all that time on the bigger one! Are you ready to move up again?????

Liz, funny but it doesn't feel that small! a little older.. yes :-) and yes, i have a lot of cleaning to do after being away for almost a month. Moving up? nope... the 53 fits me just fine, i'd rather get my big boat kicks driving other people boats! :-)

it was a great trip. Everything went smoothly, weather was good except for the strom in Charleston and basically on issues with the boat. Great crew too... not just Nancy but her friends were great too and of course "Captn'Nao".

The pictures i posted on our site give you a sample of our magnificient ICW and east coast... i n just 2 1/2 weeks, we went from tropical south florida to rural coastal Ga to heritage rich annapolis and newport, and of course NY harbor and then Nantucket. There are some amazing places along the way and some fantastic cruising grounds.
 
It's too bad you didn't get out here a few days later - today is the best weather I have seen on Nantucket since last summer! Mid to high 60's, flat calm, all the Figawi bunch are gone. Glad you and Naomi made it back safe and sound!
 
funny how the weather changes that fast... the day before, it was 20/25kts till 1pm then it died down to almost calm, giving me a chance to explore the shoreline up the harbor... really nice! then yesterday morning, back to 20/25kts!

thnks again for the ride to the airport!
 
That was an awesome trip. I hope to be able to come to SOuth Florida some time this year to pay a visit. Thanks for sharing the ride.
