Street Gas Vrs Marina Gas

Gate stations here in Northeast Florida have NonE gas. It's about 15% to 20% higher price but worth it. I set the timing on my motor back to 19* from 21* when I was using premium E10 gas and I have MORE power, smoother running and get slightly better mileage. I also use it in all my yard gear and, occasionally in my car. My work/tow car is a '98 Grand Marquis with 192K on it and still gets 21 MPG around town. But when I fill up with NonE I get 23 MPG and in 5 miles I can feel the idle smoothing out. So yes. Put to bed. Ethanol in gas IS BAD, BAD, BAD !!!!!!

When I used to use ethanol infested gasoline I had problems with both marina and "street" gas. It attracts too much moisture as tanks heat and cool each day.
 
I know I'm one of the few but I kind of like ethanol for its cleaning properties. Once you get through the initial "clean up" phase, it should be problem free. It forces you to come up with a better filtration system in the process and if you have an older boat, upgrade fuel lines. I watch guys in my marina change one hose at a time and yeah ethanol will be a nightmare if you take that approach. Upgrade everything, get through the initial batch of filters and the result will be s spotlessly clean fuel system to start.

I use Startron regularly during the season and winterized with the same.
 
I don't know of a marina near me that offers corn-free fuel. I have used fuel from my marina and fuel from Wawa in the spring from cans to intially fill the tank and find no difference in performance. The one time I had a problem was when I accidentally left the filler cap off and it rained. I fought performance issues for some time after that before I finally siphoned all of the fuel out. No problems since.

Where I used to dock, the reason was that the marina owner skimmed fuel into his Cadillac for road use... ;)
 
The "old" days marinas would sell premix for outboard engines.
