Miami - Nantucket live on Webcam...

Since Annapolis rates itself as the sailboat capital of the world, the sailboats will expect right of way while racing with no engines.
 
Ahh Ha! I finally caught the webcam as he was approaching and docking! Too bad there wasn't a webcam on the dock so I could have seen it from a better perspective. Interesting to watch anyway.
 
hey, when is Nancy going to get docking time? She needs to practice, practice, practice, right?
 
It looked as though they got a fairly good dockhand and the approach was nice and controlled and I bet Pascal did not use the grinders either.
 
Maybe in really terrible conditions, he might be forced to grind his way to the dock, but today didn't seem extreme enough for that.

Pascal, The atlantic highlands municipal marina has Diesel rb2@gr5t $4.15. You should get at least .10 of for more then $300. If you end up making sandy hook a stop let me know if I can help out.
 
Diesel will be cheapest in NJ. I always found South Jersey Marina in Cape May competitive for fuel, a little higher than other in the area for slip fees but clean and nice. Walk to the Lobster House for a great shore meal.

I just checked tomorrow's weather for the Chesapeake and Delaware Bays... it doesn't look good and the afternoon may be particularly nasty with strong thunderstorms and the possibility of hail predicted. It's certainly the Captain's decision but folks familiar with the Delaware Bay know what that kind of weather means to the Bay. Hunkering down in Annapolis or even a little further north and staying out of the Delaware Bay for another 24 hours might not be a bad idea. JMHO.
 
The webcam has been offline since shorty after they arrived. "Ego Alley" is about 60 yards off their stern so they are right in the center of all the good things in Annapolis.

If Pascal is looking for a good price on fuel Tidewater in Baltimore is currently $4.14 with $0.06 discount for cash or check. They may give a bigger discount for volume.

This is only about 15 miles off the direct route up the bay. And if the weather is bad dockage is as low as $1.50 per foot at most of the marinas.
 
Annapolis was the best stop so far! incredible town, I really miss old buildings, everything is new and "fake" in miami! Ego Alley is really something... i docked stbd to so we could have the view :-)

we did a crew change, Nancy's friends went home and Naomi flew in for the rest of the trip.

we had a visit from Dusty Roads and his wife, yet another nice RO we got to meet...

Mike, this boat like most larger boats is so easy to handle, it' shard to screw it up! grinders rarely needed :-) the dockhand was good... well.. let me rephrase that... good looking :-)

Weather is picture perfect this morning, we've been underway since 6:45, we should get to the canal around 11:00... we'll see what the weather is like, if it goes down we'll stop in cape May, otherwise we'll push to Atlantic city.

thks for the info on fuel... any idea on prices in Atlantic City?
 
You are arriving in AC on a Saturday night so you'll be paying top rates, although the real in-season rates don't start until next week, Memorial Day. Farley State Marina at Trump Plaza Casino is the most popular for transients but not cheap, but if you do want to experience AC its a good place to start. You might want to try the marina at SeaView Village (609-641-2699). Its a nice marina with a great restaurant nearby but its not in AC so rates are a little less expensive. They can probably get you transportation to AC which is just a few miles away.
 
Looks like Naomi is going to be quite an active assistant captain. Good looker too.

Hmmmmmm... the weather is looking grim. The ride down the Delaware Bat will be, ah, uncomfortable....
Chesapeake City is nice this time of year.... just a tip.
 
I'll buy first round....just finished replacing impeller on my boat at the marina there.....

Earlier Pascal posted that he's going straight through to Cape May. I hope he's secured all the glassware.
 
It will be rocking and rolling....they say hail this afternoon.......DE Bay has been seriously pounded last two weeks....they had to evacuate a bunch of towns, Slaughter, Bowers, etc...

I can see the Rt 213 bridge... I just checked weather- wind 8-10 from the south. Unless the front moves in shortly I think he'll be fine on the Delaware Bay.
