Looks like a course change... he's headed for the canal. Drinks and dinner at the Lobster House may be in order... I'm salivating!
 
Yup. Hope he knows to stay centered or close to the ferries when he goes in. Shoaling from their propwash is on the south side....
 
This is sort of like a check ride with 15,000 check pilots aboard! ;) Or was that MiLs?
 
Yep, he's well past the ferry terminal and should be safely tied up in a slip by the time the incoming line of thunderstorms hit Cape May.

strangely after the front passes, Accuweater forecasts mostly westerly’s instead of the common northers, if true the coastal route will be a milk run but the forecast for NY on Tuesday is W 25 KTS for Tuesday so I would consider not rounding Sandy Hook until things settle.
If that front passes a bit south of the forecast the winds will be NE along shore, not fun.
 
yep, we're in cape may, at Miss Chris... I guess we are alternating rustic and fancy evey other day !! nice friendly folks though... we're refuleing right now, not too bad 4.39 with BUS discount, cheap dockage and that's the only place where the fuel dock was open late.

we took the canal because it was high tide... otherwise i woudl have gone around. the ride down the Del. was ok... even was able to make expresso up on the flybridge...

we're leaving EARLY tomorrow... hopefully the winds will indeed be from the W... shooting for NY.

Dinner on board, the marina owner gave us some fresh Black Drum, caught an hour ago.

Greetings from Cape May everyone! Indeed, the bottom of Delaware Bay was rocking and rolling. We didn't make it to Lobster House for dinner, but had drinks and a delicious brick oven pizza at Lucky Bones (I don't eat anything that swims!) We really appreciate your comments, advice and concerns and DO check in at various times to get a handle on all the information submitted. I've had so much fun reading your comments that I brought the writing board especially for all of you.

What are you seeing for tomorrow that I'm failing to see. The temps are supposed to be in the mid-60s and the winds are supposed to be out of the west at 15 to 20, gusting to 30. West winds along the Jersey coast are offshore which usually bodes well for those traversing the shore. If they run the sea buoys, they should not have any problem with the seas. And if it gets a little lumpy, they can, for the most part, run closer to the shore thereby decreasing the seas that they would experience.

I do agree that as they approach Sandy Hook, it could get a bit bumpy as they head up into the Hudson River.
 
Your current slip in Cape May looks awfully close to the shore. What's the setup there?
 
Looks like it only gets better Bruce.

W-SW winds dropping Mon. to 5-10kt Tue. till Wed. night along much of the coast. Looks like if you stay just offshore a bit when you can it should be a nice run to Nantucket where it doesn't start to blow up much till late in the afternoon on Thursday.

w 25 gusts to 40 is wharaccuweather said but now it looks better with wind w 13 gust to 26 so a better forecast for near shore
 
Looks like Pascal is off to an early start, out to the Jersey coast by 6:45 AM Monday morning.
 
It's calm down here, hardly any wind here off Atlantic City this morning. I am getting ready to get back into port and start the work week. Looks like he will have a beautiful day today. Stay outside Pascal there is too much crap floating in the Jersey ICW and numerous markers are out of position from the storm last week.
