yes looks great, I guess the front weakened considerably I’m happy to have been wrong. WNW this afternoon.

Looks like Atlantic City a few points off the port bow. And you're rolling a little this morning - I hope it's not as bad as it looks!

Did you change something on the camera? Is it zoomed in maybe? The images are not as crisp as they've been, and we're only seeing the bowsprit whereas before we could see a good portion of the foredeck.

i zoomed in on Atlantic City a little but indeed res goes down...

we left around 6, out the inlet by 6:30 or 6:45.. good weather. Southerly swell and now the wind is building up the chop a little but not bad. we're going to be alittle closer to shore from atlantic city on so we shoudl get some protection from teh WSW winds.

ETA NY Harbot 5:30 or 6

Miss Chri sMarina was intersting, bow in almost over a small floating dock. We had drinks and a good brick oven pizza at Happy bones, nice place, then some Black Drum on the boat, courtesy of the marina owner.

We're going to stop in Newport for a couple of days before getting to Nantucket, where we'll probably get on Saturday. thinkiing of anchoring out tomorrow night, The Thimbles look interesting.
 
Pascal, I would not consider the Thimbles an overnight achorage. We go there often for lunch on a calm day, but it's hard to find a spot that is protected except with a notherly wind. If you want to anchor out, Port Jefferson on Long Island is a better choice. Also, if you are heading to Newport from NYC your rhumbline course will take you closer to the New York side of the Sound.
 
Pascal there will be 200+ sailboats arriving in Nantucket finishing the Figawi from about 2-4pm (depending on conditions). Hope to see you and your crew there!!!
 
Thimbles are interesting and the only place i hit a rock, hard. Lots of them there.
 
The message board is great fun! But it seems to be highlighted in yellow, making it very hard to read. The sun is probably causing some glare, too.

(Oh, am I supposed to be working????)

Port Jeff has quite a few restaurants within walking distance of the dock as well. Its a good bet for a nice night.
 
The Thimbles has moorings which you can pick up for an overnight. Currents are tricky amongst all the islands, so be careful if anchoring. Bob
 
The outcroppings of rocks sure does give the Thimbles it's beauty ! I think Nancy is very familiar with the islands being from this area.

To bad we're in a cold pattern this week but it will turn soon.
 
What strange weather today. Nice to see the sun back out. The water looks so much friendlier in the sunshine.

Nope - They passed AC between 9:30-10 AM this morning
At 15:45 that would have been close to Asbury Park
 
They're way north of Atlantic City - that was this morning. I think we're just looking at typical NJ shoreline as we approach The Narrows.

No, that is not Atlantic City. Depending on the speed that they are making, they would have passed AC sometime between 09:30 and 10 this morning.

Speaking of which, does anyone know the cruising speed of this yacht? I'm thinking 15 knots based upon Pascal's earlier comment at 09:49 this morning when he stated that he had tried to focus in on Atlantic City.
 
He posted on his message board earlier today that he was traveling at 10knts.
